CPBS ambulatory disabled access information
We welcome everyone on board our vessels and are always on hand to offer assistance if required, however our boats were all built between the 1970s and 1980s and whilst we have made changes to make the boats more accessible a full disability access survey carried out in 2022 concluded that it is not reasonable to go about the extensive works that would be needed to adapt the boats to make them fully accessible to wheelchair users.
With this in mind, we are still able to welcome passengers in wheelchairs with able-bodied companions and the following restrictions:
Access to the vessels is very tight so the wheelchair user would need to be able to gain access onto the boat without the use of the wheelchair, or would require able-bodied companions to lift them onto the vessel.
Due to the nature of the Thames there may be a gap between the pier and the threshold of the boat which could make gaining access harder for the wheelchair user.
There are no toilet facilities for wheelchair users and the toilet cubicles onboard are very small.
Temple Pier can be very steep at certain times of the day depending on the state of the tide (please note that all piersa re subject to availability)
Unfortunately, none of our vessels are completely step-free.
Our crew are always on hand to offer help to the elderly, very young, disabled or anyone else who may need assistance.
Please ask your events organiser for more information regarding the boats or piers.
