From the moment we set foot on the Golden Spirit to set up , we were made to feel so welcome by Joanne and her wonderful staff! As the birthday boy, they even sorted me out a pint before the bar opened haha! If you are planning a party, look no futrher, as the attention to detail and fabulous service of Joanne, Maya and the rest of the team was second to none.

Stuart The Skipper had us on the 'high seas' on time and back in one piece, which is no mean feat considering some of my friends haha!

After using CPB for the first time in my recent SOUL/SKA event HERD it through the grapEvInE for a SOLD OUT event last Saturday on the smaller Golden Star vessel, we'll definitely be back but with one of their bigger boats. Their before care & attention to detail was first class and on the day, the crew (Captain, bar staff & security) were helpful, polite & hard working & kept a very thirsty crowd happy. Where do I begin? CPBS provided the most seamless service from start to finish. From enquiring about our booking, to facilitating viewings of the boat, to the final day i could not fault a single thing. Firstly I must thank Hayley who was our events coordinator and she could not have done enough for us, no question was silly and no request was too much. We are beyond grateful to all the staff at CPBS for making our day so extra special, their service was impeccable and they were constantly ensuring everything was going as planned and all guests were accommodated. The caterers at flying eagle catering were amazing and worked extremely hard to make sure there was plenty of great food available of which guests all gave great feedback about. Dave the DJ was also brilliant, playing great tunes and was acceptant of guests requests. Wow, wow, wow! I don't have words to describe what an amazing all round experience this was. The team were friendly and professional and took such great care of me and my guests throughout the whole experience. We booked the Golden Star for our company summer drinks, and it was a pleasure dealing with CPB from the initial enquiry right through to the event itself.

Everything was really well organised, the evening ran smoothly, and everyone had a fantastic time. It was a great way to do something a little different and enjoy drinks while cruising along the Thames.

A great Evening Was Had
On 17 July 2026, at the end of the academic school year, we enjoyed a wonderful evening with Capital Pleasure Boats. We spent the evening aboard the Golden Star, and it was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the school year with great friends. Olivia provided an exceptional level of service when arranging our booking. She even delayed the departure time by 30 minutes at just one day's notice to accommodate our late arrival, which was greatly appreciated. If anyone is considering booking with Capital Pleasure Boats, I would highly recommend them. Great way to see in the New Year
What a great way to see in the New Year and some fireworks! Very clear instructions of what, where and how to board the Golden Star. Met by extremely friendly staff, Emma and Will, who gave us a glass of prosecco and they very efficiently managed the bar throughout the evening. DJ Dave played some great music and took requests. The boat wasn't overcrowded which added to the experience. The Captain ensured the boat was moored in good time and in a great position to view the spectacular fireworks - he even moved the tarpaulin so that we could get a better view! Wedding on a boat? Yeah!!
CPBS was the best choice for our wedding venue.The communication with the team was great from start to end. They've always been super helpful, replying quickly by email or phone. All our numerous questions were answered, and that made us feel very comfortable.The team on the boat was 10/10. They even helped us with the decoration of the tables and vases with flowers, because they saw we were not going to be able to finish on time.My guests really enjoyed the food and drinks, they said it was delicious. Special mention to the oriental filo prawns with sweet & sour sauce (which was my favourite)!The ladies at the bar were fast and super nice. We are yet to have my wife's 50th celebration end of this month. But I cant but praise the service I have had up to now in organising this event. Sarah has been the most wonderful person in customer service and has always tried helping with so many replies to emails and calls I have made. I am surprise that she has not given up on my number of communications made. In some instances going out of the way to accommodate requests. End of Summer Party
Our employee end of summer season party. We had a barbeque, DJ and bars upstairs and downstairs. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, for some it was the first time on a River Thames cruise, which when all the way up-river and then down to Canary Wharf, so lot of sightseeing and photos, during day and nighttime. We hired the Golden Star to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, and what an amazing experience. The staff on board were very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a cold buffet and there was plenty to go around for our 55 guests. The bar is very well stocked, and prices are very reasonable. Jo, our contact at CPS was very helpful from the start of our booking to the actual day. We had been on the Golden Star last year to celebrate a friends birthday. Excellent company event
We recently hired the Golden Flame boat for a company event which was a huge success! Everyone who attended had a great time and the event ran seamlessly. The planning process was very simple, and the staff at CPBS were very helpful and accommodating to our ever changing demands - thank you for that! The staff onboard the boat were also very friendly, helpful and relaxed which was appreciated. Successful pre-wedding party.
We hired the Golden Star for a pre-wedding party for 50 guests. Whilst the boat could have accommodated more people this was a decent number to allow most people to be seated. The crew were welcoming and friendly and happy to discuss the route we wanted to take. We had canapés and a hot and cold buffet menu (FE2). There was plenty of food and all very tasty. Bar prices were reasonable. Throughout the hiring process our contact (Olivia) responded promptly to all communications which gave us confidence that the event would run smoothly - which it did. A fun summer party!
We hired the Golden Star for our staff summer party and had a fabulous night! The staff were fantastic and ensured we were well looked after. The food tasted great and there was plenty of it to feed the hungry crowd. We were lucky to have a beautiful summer evening and enjoy a gorgeous sunset. We booked the Golden Star for our work group of almost 30. What an absolutely wonderful experience! I met with their ops team before confirming and was impressed with their close-knit team and their client-focused attitude. SO, I confirmed our reservation with their very helpful reservations team (thanks Halle!). We were treated very well by everyone on the boat, the food was very good, the service was wonderful, the captain and co-captain expertly maintained a smooth sail for 4 hours!! The weather was a little blustery and while faster boats passed us by and drove up waves - these 2 wonderful captains maintained and managed the boat so there was no interruption or discomfort for our team! We (A band I play in) recently booked the golden jubilee for a special ten year anniversary party. The customer service was excellent, the bar and boat staff were super helpful and friendly and amenable to our wishes, allowing us to hang decorations and party items. The event went really well, everyone had a great time and thank you to the Golden Jubilee team for helping achieve that. We recommend to others for sure and may even use them again in future.

However, just a word of warning to people organising an event. Do be very very careful with decorations. I hung a wetsuit from a chain of a disco light and unfortunately I think someone pulled the costume and it disconnected the light. The light was still attached to the boat and didn’t fall off but we had an email saying we needed to replace the disco light. This is absolutely fair enough. The cost was £170 for the light and £240 for the electrician to fit it, a total of £410. 

We are merely a little covers band (not a big corporation or business) having our friends over to celebrate with us. As our costs were very tight already, I decided to contact the boat company to see if I could help or somehow try and save on the damages. It seemed a lot of money to replace a like for like light that may well have just had its cable disconnected. The boat have their own “in-house electricians” and the cost there was fixed. I asked if I could come and have a look at it and maybe fix it. Fully understandable that this wasn’t possible due to insurance and safety stuff. I also asked if i could have the old light, as i could maybe repair it and sell it on ebay to limit costs to ourselves. I thought this was a reasonable request under the circumstances and with a bit more flexibility from the company, would be possible. The Events Organiser said this wasn’t possible and the £410 would be taken from our deposit. Again, this is understandable as the company is busy and may not have the ability/time to deal with all requests from every client. And I'm fully aware I don't have a leg to stand on, however it felt a bit of a shame that some middle ground wasn’t able to be reached i.e. that I wasn’t even able to come and collect an old light to try and repair it. I felt a little irked at the cost of the job. Thought there might be a chance of us trying to regain some funds.

I’m posting this review primarily to warn those who book with the company (which overall we recommend) to be extra vigilant with their decorations (and party revellers) to avoid damages/ issues as the costs can really skyrocket and the boat is strict with their repair policies.

10/10! Incredible service from the team. We hosted our annual charity event on the Golden Jubilee. The team's communication was excellent from the start. It was an absolute pleasure to work with this company as an event organiser. The event went well and everyone enjoyed it very much. Our boat was very spacious and can accommodate up to 240 people. What surprised me was that the boat was more spacious than it looked initially. Although we were around 170 people, there was plenty of space for people to dance, walk around and enjoy the night. The whole crew was lovely and made my event go flawless. They knew what they were doing and they seemed like a great team performing their job to the highest standard. I've been to two boat parties put on by Capital Pleasure Boats, one as a guest and one as an organiser. Both times were absolutely magical, I had such good fun and I know everyone else did too. What an amazing night we had on Saturday on The Golden Star for my husband's 60th Birthday. Excellent communication (thanks Suzie) beforehand, great crew, DJ and catering. Here's what my guests said:

It was magical. I hadn't realised how lit up everything was.

I'll never forget floating down the Thames in the dark with that amazing skyline, passing the twinkling lights of some of London's most famous attractions.

It was such a good idea to hold your party on the Thames cruiser - truly memorable and lovely food.

Wow - what a fun night!

We hired the Golden Jubilee for our wedding party on 27th July 2019 and we had the most fabulous day. Sarah, our contact with the company made sure everything went smoothly in the run up to our event and though we were a little concerned about a lack of time to set up before our party the crew and staff of the boat did everything possible to make sure the boat was ready to for our guests. We ordered a catering package from the company and opted for a champagne reception and barbecue menu and our guests loved the food.
