The Thames has some of the most iconic and instantly recognisable landmarks in Britain, so it is unsurprising it is often used as a backdrop for films, dramas and news reports. Capital Pleasure Boats and CPBS Marine Services regularly provides a range of riverboats for use in filming on the River Thames, either as locations in their own right, or to visit, assess and film other locations. As well as filming from them our work boats can also be used as safety boats during filming.
The diversity of our vessels ensures we will always have the right boat for your film shoot. Film work over the past 12 years includes television series', major films, news, current affairs and music videos.
For example, the smallest of our workboats, M.V. Watchdog, was used as a mock police boat for a major film "The Riddle", while one of our London pleasure boat fleet, MV Golden Star, was the scene of a romantic 'dinner a deux' for the E4 show Chantelle's Dream Dates.
We are happy to advise on tides and filming licences and our extensive knowledge of the Thames means we can also offer advice on possible film locations if required. For more information on our range of work boats please click on the link below.
